Tunnel and furniture from Labor Day Weekend...

It’s hard to get back to the right track after having the long weekend but it was nice to have those kind of weekend especially now that I am back in the career world but not like before we don’t take those holidays but with the new job I have right now they do recognize that holiday and we are all off which I enjoyed much.

Along with my hubby we just have a restful weekend and enjoy playing with our kittens which keeps us occupied at any given time and day. Though my hubby had a ball because he just love to enjoy the long weekend along with our kittens and it was also my idea to stay at home than running around because it is also my time to catch up with the things I needed to do like household chores.

Our kittens was so much into playing and messing our place as well cause Garfield still doesn’t get it that he needs to use the litter box for his business though every now and then he knows where to do it but most of the time he doesn’t go where he needed to go. And even they give us those headaches my hubby is still into them he shower them some goodies just this weekend, we go ahead and buy some cat furniture which for me cost an arm and leg but of course I can’t hold back myself for not purchasing it cause I know my hubby’s heart was set to buy one of those.

Our new furniture which I love to play around.

The tunnel that we love to run around with though my brother thought this is his litter box...grrr

Coy, Eden and Winston Thanks for the Friendship...

I’ve known Eden and Coy through my work experience with Vegrandis and they are both nice to me and we keep in touch with them every now and then.

But now it’s sad to say that Eden is living Arkansas and moving as far as Massachusetts for a career move but of course I am happy with Eden and her hubby Winston cause I know Eden has enough with what’s going on around with Vegrandis and now that they have the chance to move out with the hell they are in and now I could tell that it is time to move on and start anew just like what I did after all the struggles.

Hopefully with there new endeavor they will find happiness and contentment in life and also I am praying that they will be blessed with a bundle of joy which both of them are been wanting to have one/

But of course before Eden and Winston leave town we have to meet, eat out and hang out before they will leave us for good.

A cat with an attitude...

I’m a cat with an attitude that’s what my daddy described me, that’s why I got the name Garfield from the famous cat, though mom first named me as Snugglepuff because I love to be snuggled and cuddled the first time I step on there place though later on I guess they discover more stuff about me. Now they said my first name is Garfield, Snugglepuff is my middle name and Mommy’s-boy is my last name.

Sassafras is my sister who was featured her first, we do really have opposite behavior, I am pretty much contented with what life has to offer, I don’t complicate things, I am just pretty much happy with simple things around me and laid back, as long I am fed with my mom using the dropper and most of all I don’t start some fight.

Lately my sissy just loved to attack me, be rough with me, scares me and dominate our resting place so now I learn to fight back with her and use my weight and big built to pin her down, so now I learn to eat from our plate and the solid food which I know mom and dad are happy about it.

This is how they liked me for being behaved and snugglish....

And I can just be in one place without causing trouble...

And this is how I pin my sissy down...good for her...

Siblings rivalry???

Today when my hubby and I got up from bed we heard our little kittens in the other bathroom hissing and growling like a big cat.

After I do my thing from the other room I go immediately to check on them in the other bathroom, I saw both of them at the opposite end of the bathroom, while Sassafras was on top of the box where they used it for sleeping and Garfield was behind the stool and poops (sorry for the word) all over and both of there hairs was sticking out while growling and hissing to each other like a mad dog.

I try to calm them down but Sassafras is really having some kind of an attitude that she just want to growl and fight with anybody who get close to her, so now we are worried why Sassafras would act like that towards her brothter because I don’t think her brother would be mean to her knowing he is even the one who is afraid of him.
Hopefully we could figure it out what is happening with this little feline. We don’t want them to hurt each other. And with high hopes that this is just merely a siblings rivalry....

I'm Sassafras a Calico Kitty...

I’m a calico kitty that was found by Craig in the warehouse where he works for and along with her girlfriend Debbie they rescued me along with my brother. And then after a week they offered me to a couple named Matt and May whom Matt really loves to have two cats in his new place.

July 22nd, 2007 was my date of birth we just find out last August 19th when my brother was sent to the vet along with me because he isn’t eating much and it worries our new set of parents and both of us doesn’t still have a name because our new set of parents can’t find a good one that would match our personality.

I like to play rough with my brother even though mom thinks I should be prim and proper knowing I’m a little girl but it didn’t stop me from being mischievous and playful especially with my brother and at the back of the couch. I love to run around the house and be adventurous. And even how young I am I can eat from the plate not like my brother who is so babyish.

At first my dad likes to call me rascal because I’m playfully mischievous and at one point my mom call me brusko (Filipino word) or brusque (English word) meaning I’m a rough kitty. But last August 26th, Sunday dad ask mom what would be my name aside from those latter 2 names that they call every now and then, so mom asks dad about the Garfield book of Cat Names that he kept for a long time, mom browse through the books and try saying the name out loud and see if it matches me and at the end they both agreed on naming me Sassafras and in that book it says “A small genus of aromatic North American…trees with soft yellow wood,…dioecious yellow flowers in umbellate racemes, a six-lobed perianth, and nine stamens in three rows.” So I don’t know if it really depicts about me cause I’m a kitty far from being a flower but almost one of them cause I’m soft to touch but rough to play with but the important thing is my mom and dad both agreed on that name. So now they have various name they called me which are brusque, rascal, Sassafras, Sassa or Sassy so either one will do just as long they will call me for dinner.

mom was able to get my attention here huh...

mom trying to take a picture while I am snuggling with my dad's legs...

look at me how sleepyhead I am here...

this is how rowdy I am with my brother...

This is how I end up when my brother uses his big body and weight. I always end up being pinned down....

But we still have a moments like this....

Youth Weekend Getaway...

Last Saturday hubby and I bring the church youth to one of our church members lake house because this is an annual event that this couple accommodate our youth.

So I help my hubby organize for the events, I call around for our youth and invited them for the said event, there are bad news and sad stories like they are no longer going to our church or they are doing other things on that event day, still hubby wants to push through with the said event even if we just have a couple youth who are willing to come and we end up having 5 girls which is not bad because we are just expecting for 2 or 3 actually, but some problems we are facing the ride because we can just have 3 passenger in our car while I was handing the phonebook to my hubby one of our church member whose grand daughter is coming she said she is willing to go with us so we don’t need to rent a van so it’s another answered prayer.

We went to Beaver Lake, which the lake house is located; we had hotdogs, chips and tons of drinks to gulp down. And while my hubby and Dr. Thermon Crocker grilled the hotdogs, Karen Crocker lead the group for a trail hiking with La Wanda Waltman, me and along with the 5 girls and she showed us some neat stuffs on the way to the trail and down to the beach all of them was fascinated and that most of them including La Wanda love collecting rocks so we go over to some unusual rocks we saw on our hike.

After lunch was over Karen and Thermon lead us to their pontoon boat so we could go swimming. And we had a blast in the lake and the girls really enjoy the water and the weather is nice cause it’s not that hot cause we just have rain the other night so the day is little bit cooler.

It’s time for us to get out from the water and do some caving, because in there land they have a cave and they are willing to share it with us which is so nice and neat to be in there and when we got out from the cave Thermon told us that we are now all a certified spelunker.

With all the experience we have I could really say that God really have good taste on shaping his creature. And He makes a way where there seems to be no way, He works in ways we cannot see and keeps His promise that He will not leave us nor forsake us.

With me are Alex, Leslie and my hubby...

With me is Karen Crocker a nice lady from church....

At the mouth of the cave Kennedy and Matt...

Kennedy and Thermon at the bottom of the cave...We all went there but have to go down one by one and really holding on to the sides.

With my hubby inside the cave...The Spelunkers...

Kittens peek-chures...

This kitty loves to cuddle or snuggle around and of course baabaa loves it as well cause he loves to have a lap cat...
This kitty loves to be everywhere and she is the rascal one but of course it doesn't bother him at all.

Just look at the daddy??? While he is peacefully sleeping and the kittens are all over him but it doesn't bother him at all.

I just love watching him while he is enjoying the kittens, because he feels on the top of the world having them around.

First Pets...

My hubby is a cat person, he loves cat more than any other pet animals out there, he had a cat since he was a kid an even still had one left in Oklahoma (Lester is his name) which we can’t bring in here in Fayetteville cause we are still living in an apartment which is a tiny place and there would be more hassle cause you have to pay more on your rent if you have a pet so we just opted not to have one and also because I am not a pet person as well cause I grew up not having one but sad to say one day Lester was gone out in the farm because he ended up to be an outside kitty after being an inside kitty for a long time.

When me and my hubby where looking for a house, he always told me that we can have a kitty and not just one but two so they would have a playmate but still I am hesitant to get a kitty or any pet of any form cause for several reasons like I don’t want our place to smell like animals, to go after there mess and just for the fact that I am not used to any of those creature inside the house, they can stay outside the house and that would be fine but my hubby doesn’t want to.

So after we moved in into our new house last late December, I am planning to get him one cat for his birthday because someone is offering me there cat but it didn’t fell through for some reasons and I guess one part of me is saying that’s better atleast I can tell my hubby that I am willing to gave him one but the transaction didn’t fell through so after a couple of months we just lived our normal lives and forgetting to get some cat until we visited his hometown where his parents has 2 cats which he always end up wanting cats in our place.

Just last week Debbie (hubby’s officemate) offered him 2 kittens (just barely 4 weeks old) which she and her boyfriend rescued from the warehouse where her boyfriend work and where Abby’s hubby worked as well (he also mention this to Matt even before Debbie offered it to him. So Matt told me that we are going to have 2 kittens and Debbie will be delivering it so I was like what????? But he insisted to get the kittens and he is really looking forward to have those kittens and so just last Friday we had the kittens in our house and it was one of the most wonderful and great day my hubby had in that entire weekdays and he is in heaven and on top of the world playing and petting the kittens but of course I am adjusting to have pets around especially with the sharp paws. Good thing my hubby is helping me adjust.

But now I am preoccupied in the house just preparing there milk and solid food, cleaning there mess and playing with them but now I could say that I miss them when I am away from home but still feel tired when I overdo things for them but I would say they are a stress reliever so far and I am enjoying every time I am around them especially when they meow and wanting my attentions.

Going strong at 3!

Time flies so fast that I couldn’t even hardly imagine that I am married for 3 years or over because we have to dates one is June 15th (civil wedding in Fayetteville, AR) and the other one is August 21st (our church wedding) which we just celebrated two days ago at Red Robin, a gourmet hamburger place which my hubby love the most.

We had fun because the Red Robin the bird was there, I am talking about there mascot and we had a picture with him and though my hubby hesitated at first to pose with me but I was able to drag him after our big dinner as in big that we didn’t finish everything including my root beer float huhuhu…

And of course the day wasn’t over because we headed towards
PetSmart to buy some milk for our new kittens and take note this is even my first pet in my 26 years of existence hehe.

When we retreated home I noticed that I got a flower in the dining table and a note from my hubby hmmm…isn’t he sweet he really do try to put effort on it and after our long day he still have the sweetest word to say, telling me that he had the wonderful and great day he had with me today and with our kittens of course.

I could just sigh and say that I am very blessed and contented with what I have in my life today especially spending it with a wonderful and great hubby like Matt…Thank God!!!

Enjoying my new job...

I am already been working one week in my new job at the bank and I like it and enjoying the new environment and stuffs that I am doing.

Right now I am employed at the
Bank of Fayetteville and this is totally new to me knowing that I don’t have banking experience or Accounting or any of that field but still my new boss was impressed with my work experience from the hospital and I am happy that he is willing to take me in even without banking experience cause most of the bank wants to hire somebody with those kind of background. So now I do really have to take things seriously and be more attentive with the job I am working on.

The job isn’t hard at all as long you know what you are doing and don’t be afraid to ask if you encounter some difficulties. And we are not busy doing the job all the time so I have some time off to blog hehe. Because we are waiting for some transactions from different branches so if there’s nothing been sent to us then we are free to anything, at first I was even surprised that one lady was watching youtube even the boss was around or surf the net so our boss is lenient about it as long you finish the transactions for that day and you won’t have a problem.

So overall I like my new job so much, I wish I would be staying here and grow old with the company.

A great week with family and friends.

Last week goes fine and things went well and I got to visit more with Abby and we had a good time every time she visited me here in the house. We got to cook Filipino foods that we both like.

And I was also engrossed reading the last book of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows since my hubby bought it last Saturday the day it was released and I just finish it last Monday night and I can’t get enough of Harry Potter.

While my hubby got to do more of his Genealogy stuff on the weekend and visited more of the graves that his family had around in Oklahoma. And it was great that his grandma (on his father side), and parents did help him too and I feel good when I saw them walking down the graves holding hands.

I was also able to visit with my ex-officemates in Chamika’s house which she had a house warming and I been able to meet up with Eden and his hubby. And we do have a good time with each other and are able to try new Sri Lankans’ are cooking though most of it are spicy but tolerable.

So, I would say that everything that happened to me within the previous week was quite good and I am enjoying most of the time that I have around with my friends.

Post 4th of July...

Well, it might too late to post about our 4th of July events in my end, but I insist. My hubby doesn’t want to leave our place during this time of the year because in our previous place some of the apartments were robbed. So we just decided that we will just go ahead and stay here in our place and just visit his parents on the weekend and celebrate it with them and hoping that his sister and her family will show up.

But I was able to brainstorm that maybe I can invite my hubby’s family to just celebrate 4th of July here in our place, and it turned out that they are willing to drive up here and celebrate it here in Springdale.

So I hurried and make plans on that day cause I just have one day to prepare for that day, from cleaning to cooking and setting the house. And I was able to keep in touch with my good old friend from Wisconsin and asked some help about food and how to cook ‘em and I able to put things together and it turned out good and my in-laws loved and appreciated what I did. Thanks heaven! It’s worth the time and effort. And most of all my hubby’s niece had a blast cause she got the yo-yo that she’s been asking from Tito Matt and she also got a tent for herself.

It was indeed a good celebration around with the family.

This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

I don’t know it seems weird but I know God works in mysterious ways, if you were able to read my previous post I said there that I read my daily devotional reading dated June 15 during my hubby’s car wreck but the matter of truth he had the accident on the 15th of July if you read again my post about his car wreck. I just notice that I open the wrong date in my daily devotional reading until I posted it in the blog while reviewing it after thinking what title I should put, so I try to go back to the book and found it that I am not on the July page so I decided to check what message does the July 15 had and it seems they are pointing the same direction and I will share it to you.

This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4)

It is easy to love Him when the blue is in the sky,

When the summer winds are blowing, and we smell the roses nigh;

There is little effort needed to obey His precious will

When it leads through flower-decked valley, or over sun-kissed hill.

It sis when the rain is falling, or the mist hangs in the air,

When the road is dark and rugged, and the wind no longer fair,

When the rosy dawn has settled in a shadowland of gray,

That we find it hard to trust Him, and are slower to obey.

It is easy to trust Him when the singing birds have come,

And their songs of praise are echoed in our heart and in our home;

But it’s when we miss the music, and the days are dull and drear,

That we need a faith triumphant over every doubt and fear.

And our blessed Lord will give it; what we lack He will supply;

Let us ask in faith believing--on His promises rely;

He will ever be our Leader, whether smooth or rough the way,

And will prove Himself sufficient for the needs of every day.

Trusting even when it appears you have been forsake; praying when it seems your words are simply entering a vast expanse where no one hears and no voice answers; believing that God’s love is complete and that He is aware of your circumstances, even when your world seems to grind on as if setting its own direction and not caring for life or moving one inch in response to your petitions; desiring only what God’s hands have planned for you; waiting patiently while seemingly starving to death, with your only fear being that your faith might fail—“this is the victory that has overcome the world”; this is genuine faith indeed. George MacDonald

So you see they are talking the same things??? And I just also realize that those dates are memorable to us cause we are married on the 15th.

Revealed Promises!

Today, I decided to open my daily devotional readings dated June 15 the time that my hubby had the car wreck and I got some excerpt to share.

Perhaps you are undergoing some trial as God’s child, and you are saying to Him, “O God, it is raining very hard on me tonight, and this test seems beyond my power to endure. Disappointments are pouring in, washing away and utterly defeating my chosen plans. My trembling heart is grieved and is cowering at the intensity of my suffering. Surely the rains of afflictions are beating down upon my soul.”

I could really relate to the passage, during the time that I am trying to look for some help around but all of them turn me down, during the time I am walking back home it seems things aren’t working my plan and it really dishearten me and leave me broken.

But at the end God reveal his promises that He will not leave us nor forsake us and He is so good that He brings my hubby home safe and sound. I know that everything has a purpose under the heaven; we just need to hold on onto our faith.

Everyone may you have a blessed day after reading this. God bless to all!

Where are the good Samaritans now a day?

Our sermon from church yesterday was about Good Samaritan and I know it’s hard to be one, especially with the situation in our world today that it is hard to know who are really needy or just plainly using there situation. And I never thought that on that day I need a Good Samaritan but to no avail, at first I pity myself because I do really cry to two of my neighbors asking which I ask a lift to get my hubby who is on his way home after a car wreck.

Around past 5pm on that day my hubby left for a church meeting and I decided to stay home, at first I was wondering why it took him so long to be back home but I was thinking that maybe he is working on the youth room that he is trying to straighten up for a while now, so I decided to get hold of one my friend from Wisconsin and we chatted and I knew from her that she and two of her American friends met a car wreck in Duluth and we are talking about it but I never thought or even imagined that maybe around that time while I am chatting with my friend on the phone my hubby would be involved into a car wreck but after we hang up, I got a call from my hubby and telling me that I don’t need to worry cause he is on his way home but just a little late, so this makes me wonder cause he is not that type of a person, so I firmly asked him what is happening??? And he said that he got into a car wreck which wasn’t his fault and now he is on his way walking towards home which is more than a mile or two (bless his heart).

By then I was brainstorming a lot of thing how to help him, I called his parents but chooses to talk to his dad because I am afraid that his mom would be hysterical, and also I was thinking to call people from church but it is late to call and I don’t know anyone that live close by and with my mom-in-laws encouragement to go ask help from my neighbors so I decided to go to my neighbor’s house first the Hispanic couple(I chose them because at one point my hubby help them mow the lawn when they first moved into the house a week after we moved in as well) but they said that there car is not in good working condition and then I asked the guy to go with me to the other house cause I am afraid of the dog and he did and we rang the doorbell and after a while the lady(actually she was my first option because I was able to talk to her at one point and introduced ourselves but I saw the Hispanic couple first) came out and I told her that I needed help yada…yada…yada but to no avail again she turn me down and mind you I cried to those people because I am really concern with my hubby though he said that he is okay but I am still afraid what if he pass out while walking back home??? And a lot of things crossed my mind that’s why I am desperate to get a help because I want to make sure that my hubby can go home sooner and still be safe but to no avail I can’t find any Good Samaritan even around my neighborhood.

After the incident I truly say to myself this is IT!!! This is AMERICA!!! But I don’t want to generalize but I would say to myself at least that whatever life offers you could just have your own self and your hubby to lift each other and comfort each other when crisis arises in your life. Even after the incident he is still the sweetest person I ever known in my life, he just utter to me that after the wreck the only thing he thinks was to get back home and be in my arms, which is so sweet of him and by this I know we value each other more than ever.
So to people out there make sure you always make sure to let the other person feel and let them know how you value then and how much you loved them, because you’ll never know what happens in a split seconds.

Days of Heaven upon Earth.

The day is almost over and I just want to share this message from the book that I like reading every now and then especially when I am down and nothing seems right.

There is no way to learn of faith except through trials. They are God's school of faith, and it is much better for us to learn to trust Him than to live a life of enjoyment. And once the lesson of faith has been learned, it is an everlasting possession and an eternal fortune gained. Yet without trust in God, even great riches will leave us in poverty.
from Days of Heaven upon Earth

Why must I weep when others sing? "To test the deeps of suffering." Why must I work while others rest "To spend my strength at God's request." Why must I lose while others gain? "To understand defeat's sharp pain." Why must this lot of life be mine When that which fairer seems is thine? "Because God knows what plans for me Will blossom in eternity."

Starting all over again!

I’ve been in a blogworld for more than a year but decided to stop for a while cause I was caught up with all the things that needed much more attention.

Now I don’t want my mind to be idle so I will start and be more creative and use my noggin this time.
